BOOK TYPE - Picture book at 457 words and 32 pages

SUMMARY - An old dog feels so unwanted he throws himself away, sending him on an unexpectedly wild and crazy journey to the junkyard. Luckily, a kooky upcycler spots him and feels she’s found a potential treasure that just needs a little love to shine again.

MARKETABILTY

• Unique Illustrations: All illustrations will be 3D miniatures crafted from upcycled items (e.g., cardboard, manuscript versions, plastic bags, fruit containers, melted crayons, CDs, tapes, party supplies, pens, highlighters, DIY dryer lint clay, etc.). These mini "sets" will be shot on DSRL and doodled on in post in a style similar to TMNT Mutant Mayhem and The Mitchell's vs. The Machines. I'm hoping to stand out in digital era + during the rise of AI art.

• Underrepresented Characters: I've chosen two spunky seniors as main characters. Each has a very different perspectives on aging + what should be thrown away. 

• Conservation Message: Reduce, Reuse Recycle to the MAX!

• Local (Austin Texas) Love: Our motto is "keep Austin weird" and kitschy. Inspiration for woman's home from Austin legend Cathedral of Junk as inspiration for woman's home, 3 digit area code for street address, etc.

• IN PROGRESS - Buttloads of material/tool experiments (social media goodness). Example photo spreads of first pass upcycled 3D illustration pilot due May 4th for SCWBI ATX conference.
